The first stage of the consultation saw residents, organisations and other interested parties share their views on community governance in the area.

South Tyneside Council has stated that it has considered the received responses, along with other relevant information.

As the review enters its second stage, the local authority is asking for views on the draft recommendations to create a new parish with its own council.

The consultation will be open until Monday, November 23, with the feedback given set to help South Tyneside Council decide on its final recommendations.
