Michael McCann, 37, of no fixed abode, is due to appear before magistrates in South Tyneside today, Wednesday, December 1.

He is charged with robbery in connection with an incident yesterday in which a man is alleged to have threatened staff and demanded money from the till at Hebburn Post Office in Station Road.
