Second search of South Shields house where bomb squad descended as part of ongoing investigation
The large police presence in a South Shields street has been linked to a bomb squad search which took place just days before, Northumbria Police has confirmed.
A number of police vehicles were spotted in the street less than a week after the bomb squad was called to the street as part of an ongoing investigation.
Last week – on Friday, April 24 – the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended the South Shields street to assist police officers with searching a property there.
It has been confirmed that there was ‘no risk’ to the wider public and that the search in Osborne Avenue formed part of an ongoing police operation.
