South Shields man remanded in custody on attempted murder charge

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court to face an attempted murder charge.

James Mitchell Lee, 26, of Henry Nelson Street, South Shields, is also accused of dangerous driving on the same date.

Lee was arrested following an alleged shooting incident on Monday, October 5, in St Keverne Square, Newcastle, where a male sustained non-life threatening injuries.

He was remanded in custody when he appeared before Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, October 10, and will appear before a judge at Newcastle Crown Court on Monday, November 9.

A second arrested man, aged 36, remains under investigation.
