Daryl Janmaat reveals what he REALLY thinks about Newcastle fans
Daryl Janmaat has had a dig at "moaning" Newcastle United fans.
The Watford defender, signed from Feyenoord in the summer of 2014, spent two years at St James's Park.
Janmaat left the club in the wake of relegation from the Premier League two years ago.
The 29-year-old had missed an important run of games late in the 2015-16 campaign after punching a wall in the dressing room at the St Mary's Stadium after a 3-1 defeat to Southampton.
Janmaat had signalled to come off injured after slipping in the build-up to the home side's second goal.
After the match, United defender Jamaal Lascelles had called for more "heart and desire" from the team, which was second-bottom of the Premier League at the time.
Janmaat joined Watford for an undisclosed fee that summer.
The right-back took questions from Watford supporters at a fans forum event at Vicarage Road last night.
The Holland international and club-mate Ben Foster were asked about playing at the stadium, and Janmaat made an unfavourable comparison with the atmosphere at St James's Park.
"It’s massively different to my former club," Janmaat is reported as saying. "Newcastle fans expect too much and can moan quickly."
Janmaat missed Newcastle's 1-0 win over Watford earlier this month through injury.
