Delays to Metro service from South Shields due to failed train

Commuters face delays of up to 20 minutes when travelling between South Shields and Pelaw.

A failed train led to delays between South Shields and Pelaw on the Tyne and Wear Metro this morning .

Update: The disruption has now been cleared.

A spokesman for the Metro said: "The earlier delay between South Shields and Pelaw has now cleared.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience this caused passengers this morning."
