‘Eternally grateful’ - South Shields bridal studio secures top wedding award
A South Shields bridal boutique owner has been recognised with a top wedding industry award.
Jade Richardson-Gage, the owner of Engaged Bridal Studio, on Horsley Hill Square, in South Shields, has been ‘highly commended’ at the regional finals of The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA).
The studio was among seven to be nominated in the ‘Bridal Retailer (est. Less than four years) - Yorkshire & North East’ category.
As a result of the nomination, a judging panel cast their eye over how Engaged Bridal Studio operates and looked heavily into feedback from brides who bought their dresses from the South Shields boutique.
Jade opened Engaged Bridal Studio back in November 2023, becoming South Tyneside’s first "off-the-peg" bridal studio in the process.
Since then, she has continued to grow the business from strength to strength and has even went viral on social media for her tips on how to store/hang wedding dresses before the big day.
After receiving the award at the TWIA ceremony, Jade revealed her shock at being ‘highly commended’ and thanked the brides for their support.
She said: “It was kind of a shock to be nominated because I’ve never nominated for any award like this before so I was a bit taken aback.
“I went into the whole process totally openminded as there was seven bridal boutiques in the category, with the majority of them based in Yorkshire.
“So when my name was called, I was absolutely blown away - I was so shocked.
“It was so amazing and means the world to me, especially because a lot of the judging criteria was based on the feedback from the brides that I’ve helped.
“Knowing that brides have taken time out of their busy lives to vote for me is overwhelming and I’m so grateful.
“There has also been an outpouring of support from brides who weren’t eligible to vote who have been full of congratulations and praise.
“I’m eternally grateful.”
