We already know that Newcastle has some of the best restaurants in the North East, but it is always fantastic to see them get listed among the top in the country too.
The Michelin Guide is a way for diners to find out about the top eateries across the nation with some sites being awarded a much-wanted star and the newest edition of the guide was released recently.
In Newcastle there have been two additions to the guide in 2024, these are Osters in Gosforth and Six, which can be found in the Baltic Art Gallery.
Newcastle boasts two sites with Michelin Stars, and you can see them as part of the list below.

9. Lovage
Jesmond's Lovage made the guide thanks to its "welcome lack of fussiness to the cooking" and top hosting. | Google

10. Osters
Osters in Gosforth is one of the newest additions to the guide, which praises the chef's "awareness of the quality of their ingredients, eschewing overcomplication in favour of simple combinations – like Pink Fir potatoes, tenderstem and beurre blanc accompanying a generous helping of sea trout." | Sorted PR

11. SIX Baltic
The views from Newcastle Quayside's SIX restaurant aren't the only reason to dine there, with the Michelin guide saying: "A set menu comes in ‘Land and Sea’ and ‘Plant’ formats, delivering colourful dishes that are generous in both size and flavour, using fine produce like Portland crab and Dexter beef." SIX is the second new addition to the guide from the North East. | SIX

12. Haveli
Haveli near Darras Hall has also been listed in the guide., which describes it as an: "Indian restaurant in an outer Newcastle suburb, where the modern interior subtly incorporates elements of Indian décor, rather than going for a full-blown 'curry house' approach. The menu's influences come from all over India, but the north does take precedence." | Google
