A man put a brick through his ex's mum's window just three days before Christmas.

Ryan Devine was seen carrying out the attack at the house on December 22 last year. Just over a week later, on December 30, he drove past the same address, repeatedly beeping a car horn, despite being banned from the roads.

Devine, 33, of Hexham Avenue, Hebburn, South Tyneside, admitted criminal damage, driving while disqualified and having no insurance.

Newcastle Crown Court heard he has spent around five months in custody on remand. Mr Recorder David Gordon sentenced Devine, who has a criminal record, to three months behind bars, meaning he will be released immediately.
