I moved from Jarrow to Spain where I support South Tyneside businesses with my wellness retreat
A born and bred Jarrow woman is now helping South Tyneside businesses via her wellness retreat in Spain.
Nicola Coatesworth moved from Jarrow to Malaga, in Spain, around a decade ago before she decided to open up a wellness treat which works to support businesses and charities in South Tyneside.
The 52-year-old, who ran a salon in the Viking Centre for 12 years, invested in a Spanish property before turning it into a retreat that can offer activities such as yoga, mediation, massage, fitness, and more.
KW Fitness and VeraFlow have both visited the retreat to offer their clients something different, with Nicola stating that the venue can be adapted to suit the needs of different organisations.
Despite moving to Spain, Nicola is keen to help support businesses back in her homeland and revealed that she loves sharing her experiences with people from South Tyneside.
She said: “We invested in a property that is nestled in the countryside - it has beautiful views, it is calm and tranquil where we get sun most days of the year.
“We started off just offering it as a holiday let but then we ventured more into the holistic side of things so there is a space for yoga, dance, mediation, fitness, and more.
“It has been great, especially working local businesses and charities from South Tyneside because I’m giving back what they give to me.
“Even though we are all these miles away, I’m supporting them and they are supporting me.
“The sun shining anyway makes you feel good but when you’re in a place that is calm and peaceful, it is lovely to see.
“It warms my heart to see people from the area where I grew up coming over here to share my little piece of heaven.
“Even though I love my lifestyle here in Spain, South Tyneside will always be my roots.”
