Leeds United 'enter the race' for Sunderland and Portsmouth striker target

Leeds United have become the latest club to register their interest in striker Mo Eisa.

The 24-year-old is in high demand this summer after a sensational season at Cheltenham Town which saw him net 25 times in what was the striker's first season in professional football.

Peterborough were the first side to make a bid, but withdrew their interest as the Robins turned their offer down.

That left Portsmouth and Sunderland battling it out for Eisa, with both sides seeing bids rejected as Cheltenham hold out for a £1.5m.

But there could be a twist in the transfer saga as Championship side Leeds are reportedly set to enter the race.

It was previously suggested that an unnamed Championship club were eyeing Eisa, and the Whites have now revealed their interest.

According to The News, Portsmouth, Marco Bielsa's side are readying a move for the frontman as they look to add some extra firepower to their squad ahead of the new campaign.

However, reports from Gloucestershire Live suggest that Leeds are not the club chasing Eisa - although Championship interest is still expected.
