Motorcyclist taken to hospital following crash as police appeal for witnesses

Emergency services were called to Grange Terrace at around 8.10pm on Tuesday, June 15, to reports of a collision.

A 47-year-old was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for around 90 minutes while officers carried out inquiries at the scene.

A force spokesman said: “At about 8.10pm on Tuesday evening we received a report of a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Grange Terrace in East Boldon.

"Emergency services attended the scene and the 47-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"The road was closed for a short time to allow officers to carry out enquiries but was re-opened at about 9.35pm.

"Enquiries into the circumstances around the collision are ongoing and anyone who witnessed what happened is asked to report it online at the ‘Tell Us Something’ pages of our website quoting log 1034 15/06/21.”
