Museum set to hold series of wellness weekends in South Shields
South Shields Museum & Art Gallery is looking to boost wellness in the borough.
The South Shields Museum & Art Gallery is preparing to host a series of wellness weekends later this year.
Running from Saturday, September 5, until Saturday, November 7, the sessions are designed to encourage mindfulness and relaxation through art.

The Ocean Road venue is hosting the free wellness sessions to celebrate the arrival of Pierre Mignard's The Marquise de Seignelay (1691) as part of the National Gallery’s Masterpiece Tour.
The wellness sessions will vary but visitors will have the opportunity to take part in things such as meditation, a Qigong class or a movement to art session.
The sessions at the South Shields Museum & Art Gallery are free to get involved in but must be booked prior to the dates.
Each session has a capacity for only 10 people so early booking is advised.
