'It’s an amazing feeling to have something that’s ours' - South Shields dance studio to open its doors
The new dance studio, ACE Academy of Dance, will host an open day on Wednesday, October 28, from 2pm to 5pm, with activities including cupcake decorating, face painting and refreshment stalls.
A new dance studio is set to open its doors in South Shields and will mark the occasion with an open day later this month.
ACE Academy of Dance, located on Frederick Street, and will host an open day on Wednesday, October 28.
From 2pm to 5pm, current and future students are invited to look around the new premises and there will be cupcake, face painting, tombolas and refreshment stalls.
Now she says the academy has “come on leaps and bounds since then” and is “excited” to have her very own studio.

Mum-of-three Brooke, who has been dancing and cheerleading her whole life, says the studio offers a non-competitive environment that focuses on youngsters having fun, making friends and getting active.
Brooke, 36, said: “I’m absolutely proud of myself, I can’t wait to open. I’m so excited.
“I just want people to come and dance for the fun of it and make friends and not have to have the pressure of competitions.
“And also the questions for the parents about money that brings with it as well.
“To have our own studio means we can open up even more classes.
“It’s an amazing feeling to have something that’s ours.”

Her classes range from those aged 18 months to seniors and she said her family have been instrumental in helping her set up the new studio space.
Brooke’s husband Jake has done a lot of DIY to get the place ready for the dancers.
She hopes her new premises can become a safe space where students can come and ‘chill out’ before and after classes.
“I wanted it to be a safe and open space”
Brooke said: “I wanted to bring something difference and exciting for children and make it community-based.
“I wanted it to be a safe and open space.
“It doesn’t have to be class time, we’ve made upstairs a cosy room where they’ve got pink couches and loads of bits and bobs.
“It’s going to be a completely open door policy and we even mentioned that we’re going to start up a group called ‘Girl’s Chat’ every single week where they come, we can talk either about hairstyles or nails or topical things.”
