The Daily Mail have suggested that the Magpies are interested in signing West Brom defender Craig Dawson.

Southampton's victory over Swansea last night consigned the Baggies to relegation, and clubs will no doubt be keen to land some of their better players.

But one stumbling block could be Dawson's transfer fee, with a reported fee of £15million required to prise the centre back away from the Hawthorns.

Celtic are also said to be keen on the former England U21 international who will have no shortage of admirers this summer.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Albion caretaker Darren Moore said recently: "He’s done really well at centre-back and right-back. He’s got his versatility.

"But he’s done really well in that central position. He’s been a credit to himself.

"At the moment we’d like to keep them all and I can’t speculate really on what’s going to happen in the summer."
