Old station better placed

I would like to find out if I am the only person that thinks the New Interchange they are planning for South Shields is a bad idea.

The station we have now, in my opinion, is excellent. It takes people to the market, the ferry, easy walking distance to the Customs House and round to Asda and the new library.

The new interchange is only going to where the post office is now. So as I see it all the above places will be cut out.

People coming off the ferry then have a good distance to walk to find the bus station.

The market and new library is mainly used by older people.

I am 72 years old myself and will find it difficult to do this walk, as it is both ways. To carry books down to the market and back is impossible for old people.

I would be interested to know what other people think.
