KATE OSBORNE: Make your voice heard at my roadshow and by taking part in summer survey

Next week marks the beginning of my Summer Roadshow, with a drop-in session being hosted in each of the 10 wards within the Jarrow constituency.
"Share with me what your priorities are, both locally and nationally, to feed into my work in Parliament and across the constituency.""Share with me what your priorities are, both locally and nationally, to feed into my work in Parliament and across the constituency."
"Share with me what your priorities are, both locally and nationally, to feed into my work in Parliament and across the constituency."

Alongside my roadshow and the launch of my Summer Survey, I can announce that South Tyneside Council has submitted the levelling up bid for our constituency.

I want to hear directly from constituents about the issues most important to them, so I can ensure that I am best representing constituents’ priorities when Parliament returns.

Each drop-in session will give Jarrow constituents the chance to speak with me and my team, as well as an opportunity to fill in my Summer Survey and share with me what their priorities are, both locally and nationally, to feed into my work in Parliament and across the constituency.

I know that many constituents are facing a number of problems from coping with the impact of Covid-19, to the drastic increase in food and energy bill costs as well as issues such as accessing NHS services and issues with schools.

During this time, it is even more important for people to know there is somewhere they can turn for advice and support - I want to help as many people as possible as well as ensuring your voice is heard in Parliament.

The gap in regional inequality has widened and we see more families pushed into poverty every month. In the Jarrow constituency, 38% of children are living in poverty, this Conservative Government does not care if families and towns in the North are struggling – they’re preoccupied with leadership campaigns and empty slogans.

People are under enormous pressure with a cost-of-living crisis and every day pressures, and I am determined to ensure people know I am on their side.

I will focus on supporting constituents throughout the summer as much as I have done since I was elected as MP for this proud area two-and-a-half years ago.

Our constituency has an incredible history, and I am pleased that the recently submitted bid for levelling up funding, if successful, will highlight this rich heritage whilst paving the way for a greener future. Investment into Bede’s World and Jarrow Hall, alongside investment into our innovative Hebburn Minewater Scheme will positively impact our community for generations to come.

Please do come along to the drop-in for your ward – full information can be found on my social media or by calling 0191 4661509.
