These 10 cats will all be spending Christmas in foster care, but volunteers in South Shields have a Christmas wish to find them a new family in time for next year.
Some of them have been at Willows Cat Adoption Centre for the whole year hoping to find a new home.
Many have special needs and unique personalities and staff are careful to match the cat to the new owners family circumstances, to make sure it's a lifelong friendship.

Meet the cats here...

5. Toto
Toto came to Willows at five weeks old 18-months ago. He was born outdoors and was so desperate for food he swallowed scavenged meat elastic. He's highly intelligent and loves to sit on your knee but can be easily spooked so needs a quiet home with no children. He’ll need to be an indoor cat as he’s not streetwise. | Other 3rd Party Photo: Willows Cat Adoption Centre

6. Meggy-Peggy
Meggy-Peggy was a stray who gave birth in a shed this summer. Her kittens were weaned and re-homed, but because she’s shy of people she’s not used to, she's not yet found her forever home. Once she’s gained your trust she’ll follow you from room to room and enjoys strokes and snuggling up on the sofa. | Other 3rd Party Photo: Willows Cat Adoption Centre

7. Spritely Bear
Spritely Bear is athletic, playful and loves his toy mice. He enjoys time outdoors and would love a safe garden to play in once settled. He’s around 18 months old and has been at Willows since spring. He's looking for a human who would not mind a cat with a quirky, lively personality. | Other 3rd Party Photo: Willows Cat Adoption Centre
8. Bridie
This red-headed beauty is very excitable. She’s only been with Willows around three months but she's not found the right home yet as she doesn’t like to be fussed over too much and may give a nibble if she gets over-excited. She needs an experienced cat owner who can read her kitty signals. | Other 3rd Party Photo: Willows Cat Adoption Centre
