These 10 cats will all be spending Christmas in foster care, but volunteers in South Shields have a Christmas wish to find them a new family in time for next year.
Some of them have been at Willows Cat Adoption Centre for the whole year hoping to find a new home.
Many have special needs and unique personalities and staff are careful to match the cat to the new owners family circumstances, to make sure it's a lifelong friendship.

At 10-years-old Freddy is another vintage treasure. He still hides when visitors come, but once he’s gained your trust he’ll enjoy a close relationship with a patient gentle human.
