The team at Crown Hair and Beauty on Sea Winnings Way, where Allan had a chair, left a note and arrangement outside the shop.
It said: “We will all miss you so much. It won’t be a normal work day without you. We loved having you in our little Crown family.”
Many have been paying their respects to Allan, who was also known as Stoney, on the Shields Gazette Facebook page.

Sharon Peterson said: “Such sad news, he was always so supportive of our boys and took part in one of my son’s first boxing shows. Always sponsored people, a genuine all-round good guy.”
Customers of Allan also recalled their fond memories. Neil Young added: “I started using him at Westoe Crown when he started up there.
"Was telling him about my son’s football presentation that evening. The next time I went in, he straight away asked how my son’s football presentation went.
"Been going to Stoney’s ever since. What a lovely, decent guy he was.”
