Bird watchers gathered in their dozens at Trow Quarry on Thursday, October 15, in the hope of catching a glimpse of the unqiue bird.

It followed earlier sightings of the Taiga Flycatcher at the site on Wednesday night, with bird watchers sharing videos on Twitter.

According to online bird expert, eBird, the Taiga Flycatcher is a small brown migratory bird with a contrasting black-and-white tail.

A breeding male has an orange throat patch surrounded by a faint gray wash, while a non-breeding male has darker flanks with less orange on the throat.

The female bird is cold brown above and dirty-white below.
