A man charged with burglary after a break-in at Cardstation inside South Shields’ Denmark Centre is due to stand trial.

Neil McKay, 50, from Cloverhill, Jarrow, was granted conditional bail in his absence following a hearing at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 28.

He will appear at the same court on November 8, 2021 where he will stand trial charged with one count of burglary.

It follows a police investigation into a suspected break-in at the Cardstation store on April 22, 2021.
