It has so far seen a scary selection of creations - some inspired by the current times, such as ‘Lockdown Lil’ – with others giving a nod to the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
Hippies, surfers, Bob Marley and even Donald Trump make an appearance (you can spot him hanging from a window on Brass Thill Way).
Initially launched on the Westoe Crown Estate, scarecrows have now taken up residence in gardens along Mowbray Road, Beach Road and from Lady Smith Street to Bents Park Road.

“It came about out of the lockdown. It was something people could create at home with the kids but that they could join in with and be part of, as well going out for walks to see everyone else’s creations.
“Initially it was going to just be the Westoe Crown Estate but I was bombarded with messages from other areas off the estate asking to be part of it and I’m really glad we extended it further.
“It’s a simple setup - create your scarecrow, pop it outside your house and share a photo on the Facebook page with the location so people know where to look.”

They added: “I would like to thank LivBeauty, Conways cycles and Canine Companions dog services for their prizes - but the real prize is the pride and satisfaction it gives the creators.”
