He said: “Very much looking forward to guest hosting BBC The One Show this Friday!”

He even digitally placed a photo of himself over Matt Baker’s face, the fellow northerner who he will be replacing for the evening.

Chris added: “I did my ultra sick Photoshop skills on the iPlayer image. Hit me up if you want me to fix any others @bbciplayer, my fees are very reasonable.”

Fans have already been supporting him on social media alongside his Strictly Come Dancing professional partner, Karen Hauer, who commented: “Yes man!”

He just missed out on the final at the end of last year, but can he present as well as he danced?

The show description on the BBC website reads: “Alex Jones and Chris Ramsey bring you the stories that matter from across the country” and it will be live on BBC One at 7pm on Thursday, January 17 and will be available on demand on BBC iPlayer soon after.
