We asked Gazette readers to tell us about someone who has helped them – whether it’s a neighbour, friend or someone else they know – during the difficult times of late.
Many of you got in touch via our Shields Gazette Facebook page, sending thank you messages to those who have delivered essential items, sent positive messages or gone out of their way to help out.

Geordie Bell: “The manager of Conifer Lodge Bill Malcolm posted notes though all the doors of the bungalows saying if you need anything from the shops just call him and he and his team will help in any way possible thank you it means a lot and also my daughter and son-in-law who have been great.”
Linda Collier: “Kerry Suzanne Anderson has shopped for us twice a week for the last 12 weeks. Our daughter is the best!”
Pauline Ross: “A lovely lady over the road, Kayleigh, who dropped things off for me and cooked me a beautiful beef stew. Thank you.”
