The neighbours, who all live in Trajan Avenue, South Shields, have netted £1,000 each after NE33 2AN was chosen as a prize winner in the latest People’s Postcode Lottery daily prize draw on June 21.

Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well wishes to the winners and added: “What a way to wrap up the weekend. Congratulations to our winners, I hope they enjoy their prizes.”

Trajan Avenue is not the first South Shields streets where neighbours have celebrated a recent lottery win.

Five residents in this South Shields street are celebrating a four-figure lottery win each.

A minimum of 32% of People’s Postcode Lottery ticket sales goes directly to charities and players have already raised more than £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

The latest draw was promoted by Save the Children, which has received nearly £9 million in funding from the ticket holders.

Save the Children connects parents, teachers, and childcare experts to build a brighter future for children across the UK by working with them to give them the support they need from the very start of life.

Local charities can next apply for funding through the People’s Postcode Lottery in August and for further information visit www.postcodelottery.co.uk or telephone0808 1098765.
