Police investigation continues after man found unconscious in street

A man who was found unconscious in a South Tyneside street is improving in hospital as police continue to investigate how he sustained his injuries.

A man is in a stable condition in hospital after he was found on Grange Road West in Jarrow with serious injuries.

Officers were called to Grange Road West in Jarrow in the early hours of Wednesday, September 26, after a man was found with serious injuries.

The road was cordoned off as officers carried out a search of the area and the man was taken to hospital.

Police have confirmed that he is now in a stable condition.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "Inquiries are still ongoing and anyone who might have witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 quoting log number 139 26/09/18."
