The club leads the Championship by a point ahead of Wednesday night's home game against Burton Albion.

But United manager Benitez felt his team was "anxious" around the box against Graham Barrow's side.

And that is something he hopes the players can address against 19th-placed Burton, who beat Huddersfield 1-0 at the weekend thanks to a 96th-minute goal.

"Physically, the team is fine – it's not an issue," Benitez told BBC Radio Newcastle.

"You can see the other teams work so hard against us. You have to balance this effort.

"What we need now is a little bit more confidence on the ball to create more chances, or to take the chances that we have.

"When we are close to the box sometimes, you can see that anxiety is a problem, so to win gives you more confidence, and hopefully we can do a little bit better against Burton."

Benitez also revealed he had no fresh injury concerns after the Wigan game.
