Shields Ferry service to resume tomorrow
The cross-Tyne service has been suspended since November 21, after structural damage was discovered in the dock on the north side of the river.
The ferry will resume its usual timetabled services from 6.45am tomorrow, with seven-minute crossings running every 30 minutes.

Hide AdShields Ferry Manager Carol Timlin said: "My thanks go to our customers for their patience during this week long period of disruption.
"We had found some structural damage on the north landing and it had to be closed while repair work was carried out. Safety is our top priority at all times.
"I’m pleased to say that the work has now been completed and the structural engineers have given us the green light to re-open.
"Our daily crossings will resume from 6.45am tomorrow and the replacement bus service will be withdrawn."
