All seaside towns have one.

South Shields had one years ago called Madam Zena. I was very friendly with her.

She worked from a back room of a fancy goods shop in Ocean Road.

It wasn’t great conditions and apart from dampness there were posters of pop stars of the day, Noddy Holder and Rod Stewart were pinned to the wall.

Despite this she was very popular and folk travelled for miles to listen to her prophecies.

While many people think that this type of thing is rubbish there is no doubt it would be a great attraction.
