She will open the night when Manchester group Pale Waves head to Sunderland as part of the Summer Parties series of shows at the Fire Station in Sunderland.

Cortney has only just returned from a stint on the road opening for a joint headline tour from alt-rock legends Garbage and Skunk Anansie.

She also appeared on the main stage at Sunderland’s Summer Streets festival on the first weekend of July.

Other sets throughout the day will include supprot slots from Belfast group Esmeralda Road and Leeds based Venus Grrrls. Tickets for the gig are available through the venue’s website.
