South Tyneside Council issue update on key closed pavement near primary school
An update has been given on work which has seen a pavement closed near a South Shields primary school.
South Tyneside Council has given an update on when a pavement near a South Shields primary school will be repaired.
Residents on Hutton Row near Westoe have reported a pavement on their road remains out of order after weeks of being unable to use one side of the road.

The barriers, which are currently being used to prevent people falling into Westoe Cemetery, are near Westoe Crown Primary School.
A South Tyneside Council spokesperson said “A temporary safety fence remains in place at Westoe Cemetery while we address structural concerns relating to a section of the boundary wall.
“Following specialist engineering advice, we are progressing the necessary repair works. The fence is there to protect pedestrians and road users and will remain in place until the wall has been repaired and it is safe to remove.
“We understand residents' concerns and are working to have the repairs carried out as soon as possible.”
