Danbers, of Keats Walk, also Biddick Hall, is alleged to have pointed the weapon at an assistant, before being chased out.

At South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, he did not enter a plea to a charge of attempted robbery.

He also did not enter a plea to a charge of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.

Prosecutor Christopher O’Brien said the alleged victim was attending a display when a man said to be Dambers entered.

Mr O’Brien said the apparently real gun, which turned out to be an imitation firearm, was placed to the victim’s head.

Magistrates remanded Danbers into custody to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Wednesday, December 2.
