BBC weather presenter shares tip for tracking lightning as the region is hit with thunderstorms

BBC weather presenter Jen Bartram has shared how you can track lightning strikes as the North East is hit with thunderstorms.

Thunderstorms hit the North East on Monday afternoon.

As the North East was hit by heavy rain showers, along with thunder and lightning on Monday, May 10, the TV presenter shared her tip.

As the storms hit the region, BBC weather presenter Jen Bartram has shared on Twitter a way that members of the public can track the lightning as it hits the North East.

In a tweet, she said: “There’s quite a bit of lightning from these showers today.
