Daniel Moore happy with Hebburn Town FC progress ahead of National League North season

Hebburn Town are entering the final two weeks of their preparations for their first ever season in the National League North.

Daniel Moore believes Hebburn Town FC are ‘in a good place’ as they head into Saturday’s home friendly with Anstey Nomads.

The Hornets have enjoyed a largely positive pre-season as they prepare for their first ever season in the National League North as Moore has worked hard to introduce a number of new signings into his ranks and manage the game-time of players across his squad. Hebburn produced an impressive performance in Tuesday night’s 3-2 friendly defeat against National League club Hartlepool United as on-loan Pools youngster Kian Foreman and summer signing Jake Charles both found the net against Lee Clark’s men.

A home meeting with Southern League Premier Division Central side Anstey will be the Hornets’ final home friendly of the summer and their penultimate fixture before they kick off their first National League North season with a home game against Southport. Moore has set out his plans for what lies ahead over the next fortnight and delivered a positive assessment of his side’s progress over the last month.

He told the club website: “We want to get through with no injuries because we picked up one or two in the last two weeks. One from kicking a ball, Tom Allan, felt his knee a little bit but a lot of lads have had good minutes in the last couple of weeks. It will be the same again Saturday, the lads that didn’t start against Pools will start on Saturday.

“The result doesn’t matter to me on Saturday, it’s about getting through. I care about the result and performance but it’s not going to dictate what happens in a couple of weeks. Saturday is about getting lads minutes that need minutes and then the Blyth game, we’ll be looking after players in the week before the season. Some have played more than others so it’ll be lads that need topping up. It’s about managing the squad now and I feel like we are in a good place.”

Midfielder Ethan Wood is set to return to the matchday squad against Anstey on Saturday and Moore will assess the fitness of summer signing Tom Allan.
