Hebburn Town boss hopes 'finer details' make the difference in Prescot clash
Hebburn Town will face Northern Premier League Premier Division rivals Prescot Cables at the Trustmark Group Stadium on Saturday.
Hebburn Town manager Daniel Moore has admitted he is happy to be facing a side ‘fighting for every point’ as his players prepare to face Prescot Cables at the Trustmark Group Stadium on Saturday.

The Merseyside outfit will arrive in the North East looking to secure a win that would boost their hopes of remaining in the Northern Premier League Premier Division as they are currently sitting just two points and two places above the relegation zone. By contrast, Moore’s men have their eyes on escaping the division via the front door and are sat at the top of the table thanks to the superior goal difference they have over second placed Hednesford Town.

It has been a challenging month for the Hornets as they have faced several sides in and around them in the table - and although they have drawn several of those games, they have only lost one of their last ten fixtures to keep themselves in the race for the National League North. With the luxury of a rare free midweek, Moore has revealed he has been working on some finer details with his squad in preparation for what he believes will be a tough test against Prescot.
He told The Gazette: “People go on about hard work but we have to look after the players as well. It’s been a long season, we had a few players with knocks so it’s about managing the players and trying to give them so finer details going into the end of season run-in.
“We look at Saturday’s game and you sit back and reflect and think they’ve lost just two games at home, they’ve got one of the best records at home. They’ve not lost against a top five side so it’s a good point towards the total we set - but now can’t drop those levels.
“We have to be on it and do the basics well. Prescot will fight, they’ll show desire and they have done really well since they’ve come into the division with us. They’re fighting for every point and I’m glad we have a game like this because if teams have nothing to play for they play with no fear and both ourselves and Prescot needing points makes it an even bigger game.”
Moore could consider handing starts to Jack Donaghy and Olly Martin after they were named amongst the substitutes for last weekend’s draw at Warrington - but loan signing Dan Savage will not be available after he was recalled by parent club South Shields.
