History makers Boldon CA create lifelong memory for captain Callum Larmouth
Boldon CA progressed into the FA Vase third round for only the second time in their history.
Boldon CA’s FA Vase heroics against FC St Helens have created a memory captain Callum Larmouth admitted he will never forget.
After seeing off higher level opposition on two previous occasions during their run to the second round, Boldon added a third shock win to their record by coming through a penalty shoot-out at the Kay Welding Stadium to earn a spot in the third round for only the second time in their history.

Liam Thear fired Boldon in front with just five minutes on the clock - but a second-half penalty from Dan Lowey ensured they had to navigate a shoot-out to match the club’s best ever performance in the competition. It was Larmouth that fired home the winning penalty and he has revealed he is ‘not really fussed’ by who his side face in the third round of the competition
He told The Gazette: “I wasn’t bothered about the penalty, I never get worried or feel pressure on penalties but for it to be the winning penalty was pretty special and I’m glad I got the job done.
It was such a good feeling and one I’ll never forget. Everyone played their part and got the club to somewhere that it hasn’t been for a long time. We fully deserved that win, every single player put 110% in and that’s what has won us the game. I’m not really fussed who we get in the draw, I’m sure who ever we get we will give it our all and see where that takes us.”
