Kah's treble eases Jarrow safely past Annfield Plain

Jarrow cruised into the semi-finals of the Durham Trophy after a 5-2 away victory over Annfield Plain.

Annfield began the match on the front foot and went 1-0 up after only four minutes.

However, Jarrow equalised a minute later when Darren Morton scored from close range.

Minutes later, Morton put the visitors 2-1 ahead with another cool finish. Just before half time, Aaron Kah made it 3-1 with a great strike.

Goalkeeper Mark English made some great saves to ease Jarrow into a 3-1 advantage at the break.

Annfield started the second-half the brighter and soon made it 3-2.

From then on, Jarrow stepped up a level and Kah completed his hat-trick with two quick-fire goals to settle the tie.

After the match Dave Bell said: “Overall, we deserved our victory against a difficult Annfield Plain team to play against.

“Chris Hutchinson, Norman Dryden, myself and everyone involved were so proud of our disciplined performance.

“We all prepared for this game and the lads were an absolute credit to our football club.”
