Allan Saint-Maximin reveals his view on Newcastle United fans

Saint-Maximin, signed from Nice last summer for £16.5million, has been a hit this season. A goal from the winger gave the club a 1-0 win over Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium in early March. The result lifted the club up to 13th in the Premier League with nine games left to play.

Fans quickly took to 23-year-old Saint-Maximin, who tormented defences with his pace and dribbling before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I really love Newcastle because the fans like how I play,” Saint-Maximin told Sky Sports. “This is important for me, you know. It’s a really great feeling. That’s why I’m enjoying it a lot here, and I know I can show much better things too."

Saint-Maximin – who kept fit in his garden during lockdown – is preparing for next week’s Premier League restart.
