The winger is expected to be rested

No surprise there is interest!

Interest in Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin continues to grow as the Frenchman lights up the Premier League post-lockdown.

The Magpies winger, signed for around £16.5million from Nice last summer, has been one of the top flight’s top performers during Project Restart – and his glittering form has drawn the advances of some Premier League admirers.

While PSG are reported to be taking a watching brief in the player, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be monitoring the situation.

And reports over the weekend suggest United could be offered the services of Danny Rose and Juan Foyth, on permanent contracts, to smooth over any potential deal.

The winger wants more game time

Newcastle United winger Valentino Lazaro is unhappy at the game time given to him by Steve Bruce post-lockdown – but remains determined to prove himself in the Premier League, with his future uncertain.

The Austrian international, on loan from Inter Milan, has played his part in each of United’s five games since their return to football, but each time the wideman had to be content with cameos off the bench.

Lazaro has played in total just 73 minutes in the last five Magpies games, his longest spell on the pitch coming at Bournemouth last midweek – a game in which he impressed, netting his second goal of his loan spell and cracking the bar soon after.

But the Gazette has learned the 24-year-old is desperate to start for United, especially with the carrot of a permanent move to St James’s Park dangled at the end of the current season. Lazaro has started just three games for the Magpies since making the January switch from Serie A, his last in the Premier League came on February 22, ending in a red card and defeat at Crystal Palace.
