The fixture will see former Magpies defender and current Heed player-manager Mike Williamson face his old club in the first meeting of the two sides since July 2015.

Williamson featured alongside the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Jamaal Lascelles that night as a United side managed by Steve McClaren claimed a 1-0 win at the International Stadium thanks to a penalty from Papiss Cisse.

Several other former United players will also face their old club in July with the likes of Jack Hunter, Greg Olley, Kieren Aplin, Dan Ward, Alex Nicholson and Adam Campbell all in the current Gateshead squad.

Both clubs have announced ticket details for the game will be released in due course, which could be Covid-19 permitting.
