Jetro Willems drops transfer hint amid Newcastle United interest
Jetro Willems has hinted at his frustration at Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the January transfer window.
The defender’s loan at Newcastle United last season was cut short by a serious knee injury.
Willems returned to training at his parent club in August after successful surgery – but he is yet to play a competitive game.
The 26-year-old is interesting Newcastle ahead of the expiry of his contract at the Bundesliga club next summer, and Willems, in a Twitter post, says he's “ready to play games” in the second half of the campaign.
Speaking about his time at United in the summer, Willems said: “I had a great time. I was feeling great, and you could see that on the pitch. The support they gave me, and confidence had in me, and people at the club, the coach (Steve Bruce) ... I had a great time. It was sad that it ended like that.”
