Newcastle United new long-term deal with 'amazing' player imminent - Matthias Jaissle loves him
Matthias Jaissle spoke about his ‘love’ for Lewis Hall ahead of the left-back’s new long-term deal at Newcastle United being officially confirmed.
Matthias Jaissle admitted he is ‘in love’ with the performances Lewis Hall has produced for Newcastle United so far this season.
Hall was a key player under Eddie Howe at Newcastle and has continued that status under the new head coach. The 22-year-old’s impressive displays and importance to Newcastle have been rewarded with a new five-year contract that is set to be officially confirmed.
While Jaissle would not comment on the contract situation surrounding Hall, he was quick to praise the player himself.

Matthias Jaissle on Lewis Hall
“Yeah, without speaking about his contract, I can just say that I'm in love with what I saw so far from him,” he said.
“He's an amazing player with huge potential still, and this makes me so happy to hopefully have him here for the next years, in the long term, as he's fitting so good to this identity, how we want to play football. And again, he's doing an excellent job.”
Hall has contributed two assists for Newcastle already this season, equalling his total tally from the previous campaign. And with Amar Dedic also contributing three assists from right-back already, Jaissle has already highlighted the importance of those players in how he wants his side to play.
Importance of full-backs to NUFC
“Really important, as you saw also in the statistics, they don't lie,” he told The Gazette. “So we involve them heavily in possession, usually to be also dominant in the final third, and we have that quality on both sides, so I'm really pleased to see these performances.”
Hall was subject to transfer interest from Manchester United over the summer, but a deal didn’t get off the ground. But Jaissle accepts that the England international will be subject to more interest in future windows.
“For sure he will have interest [from other clubs] in the winter, like many other players,” Jaissle said last week. “Every window there will be interest for our players. We definitely count on him, he’s a player of huge, huge potential.”
