How to watch Manchester United v Newcastle United: Streaming details and injury news for Premier League’s only Boxing Day fixture.
Newcastle United face Manchester United in the Premier League’s only Boxing Day match. The scheduling this season, and the Premier League’s commitment to a certain amount of matches on TV on weekends this season, means that just one Premier League will be played on Friday.
That match sees Eddie Howe take his side to Old Trafford, aiming for a second-successive win at the Theatre of Dreams and their third in their last four visits in all competitions. In this corresponding fixture last season, the Magpies won 2-0 courtesy of goals from Alexander Isak and Joelinton.
That game was played just-shy of a year ago and Newcastle United completed a first Premier League double over the Red Devils with a 4-1 win at St James’ Park just over three months later. Their trip to Manchester this week, though, will see them come up against a side sat above them in the Premier League table and harbouring similar ambitions of qualifying for Europe.
When is Manchester United v Newcastle United?

Newcastle United injury news v Manchester United
Eddie Howe will again be forced to deal with a number of injuries to his defence and may have just three fit senior defenders to call on at Old Trafford. Lewis Hall came through Saturday’s draw against Chelsea unscathed, although Howe is keen to ensure he is not overused over the busy festive period.
Howe also offered a positive update on Tino Livramento’s recovery from a knee injury, although he, Emil Krafth, Kieran Trippier and Sven Botman are all expected to miss out whilst Jamaal Lascelles remains a major doubt.
Joelinton, meanwhile, could make his return to action against Manchester United after being an unused substitute in their last three outings. The Brazilian had been suffering with a groin injury but could return to action tonight.
