Mike Ashley under more pressure as Newcastle United takeover edges closer
Bournemouth have followed Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur and abandoned a plan to furlough non-playing staff.
The club last night revealed in a statement that it will no longer use the Government's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme with football suspended during the pandemic following criticism from fans.
A statement read: "We’ve listened to our supporters.”
Newcastle United and Norwich City are the only two Premier League clubs still using the scheme.
United owner Mike Ashley, close to selling the club, has been criticised for the move.
