And that news has put the likes of Newcastle United, Manchester United and Everton on high alert.

Newcastle, along with the likes of Everton, Norwich City and Schalke, have all scouted the player in recent months, as per reports.

“Salisu feels the love of the club because we have signed three contracts in thirteen months,” said Valladolid director Miguel Angel Gomez to the Spanish media.

“He knows that he is an important player and that we would like to proceed with the renewal. But today, we are at a standstill.”

Manchester United have reportedly jumped to the front of the queue when it comes to signing the 20-year-old central defender.

The Red Devils are said to have the “inside track” due to Juan Mata’s father representing the player.
