The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder took on Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu in an ePremier League Invitational tournament tie today – and lost 2-1.

Atsu’s side won the EA Sports FIFA 20 game thanks to a last-minute goal. Newcastle will face Liverpool, represented by Trent Alexander-Arnold, in the next round of the knockout competition

However, the talking point among United fans was Sissoko’s room – and his memorabilia. The 30-year-old, sold to Tottenham for £30million in the summer of 2016, was sat on a black and white sofa next to a large photograph of the Tyne Bridge. Behind Sissoko, there was also a photo showed him playing for Newcastle.

The ePremier League tournament is raising money for the #PlayersTogether initiative, which is supporting the NHS Charities Together during the coronavirus pandemic.
