The Magpies head coach confirmed there was no fresh injury news to report, which means Callum Wilson, Fabian Schar, Javier Manquillo and Federico Fernandez remain sidelined, though Bruce did provide a positive update on the latter two.
Bruce said: “Thankfully, we’ve not got any new injuries ahead of the weekend.
"Federico Fernandez trained yesterday and the day before but Sunday will be too soon for him. We’re hoping he’ll be ready for Wolves.”
He added: “The one who looks better is Manquillo, he twisted his ankle badly, but has responded very well to treatment.”
So, who will get the nod for the Premier League clash at Old Trafford?
Flick through our gallery as we predicted Bruce’s line-up – which includes a somewhat controversial change:

5. Jamal Lewis
Lewis has shown glimpses of what he is capable of this season and will be hoping to emulate his fine display in the win at Everton. Photo: Stu Forster

6. Jeff Hendrick
Probably an unpopular choice among Newcastle fans but Bruce has often stuck by the midfielder this season. Photo: Alex Pantling

7. Joe Willock
A much-needed box-to-box option. The on-loan Arsenal man was one of the few positives from Monday’s loss at Chelsea. Photo: Stu Forster

8. Jonjo Shelvey
Capable of splitting open any defence with one pass but how often do we see it? Well, Newcastle certainly need to see more of it. Photo: Stu Forster
