The protocols for the third stage of the Premier League’s restart plan were approved today following successful returns socially-distanced and full-contract training. Newcastle United will resume their campaign with a behind-closed-doors home game against Sheffield United on June 21.

The season, which was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, will resume next Wednesday with a game between Aston Villa and Sheffield United at Villa Park.
