Almiron’s October also ended with him having his own goal of the month competition after superb strikes against Fulham, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

Reacting to the award, Almiron wrote on Instagram: ‘I am very proud and happy to win this award. It is special because it is chosen by the fans. The fans are very important to me and they give me a lot of confidence to help me perform on the pitch. It's been a good month for me, but more importantly for the team and we want to continue like this between now and the World Cup.’

Trossard backed for Chelsea move

Brighton midfielder Leandro Trossard has emerged as a target for Newcastle United after the Belgian’s superb recent form for the Seagulls. Newcastle, who may look to add to their squad when the transfer window reopens, may explore a ‘cut price’ deal for Trossard with his current deal at the Amex Stadium set to expire at the end of next season.

Chelsea, under former Brighton boss Graham Potter, have also been linked with a move for the £30million rated midfielder and Rio Ferdinand believes the Blues should make a move to sign the 27-year-old in January.

Speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: “This guy is doing major bits right now. If Potter doesn’t go back there to try and sign him I’d be amazed. The best part of his game is being creative. He’s just scored a few goals lately, that’s not even his game.”

Broja reports

According to reports, Newcastle United and Everton are ‘monitoring’ Chelsea striker Armando Broja over a potential loan move for the striker in January. Broja has netted once in 14 appearances for Chelsea this season.
